Operability and Flexibility of Pinch Applications on Heat Exchanger Network in Chemical Industry – A Review

Energy conservation has recently become one of the most important considerations in industries, especially petrochemical industries. This is due to limited availability fuel which affects price energy sources, as well tightening regulations concerning environmental and social issues related pollutant emissions produced by The successful energy-saving efforts made industries impact on not only lowering production costs but also indirectly preserving natural resources reducing pollution CO2 gases contributing global warming. Pinch analysis been widely known for process integration, heat order gain efficiency cost many decade. allows selection efficient exchanger network with minimum hot cold requirement. By using pinch analysis, number units required could be minimized leads optimum operational investment. allowing investigation any problems, such threshold cross problems incorrect placement utilities impacted wastefulness consumption. Despite success studies highly potential saving integration through real implementation effective (HEN) based still facing difficulties, example term flexibility controllability operation. paper provides preliminary information increasing or savings when utilizing technology considering operability its operation retrofitting chemical industrial plants.
